2011 stoneware ornament

porcelain version

Brooke Pottery’s 2011 Holiday Ornament was designed by Madison Kluegel, a sixth-grader at Millenium Middle School. We love her festive penguin surrounded by snowflakes. On November 4 we presented awards to the top three finalists of our summer Kids Art Ornament Contest. Madison Kleugel won a $100 savings bond for first place. The second place $75 bond was awarded to Sydney Tritschler of North Lakeland Elementary, while David Zamot, a third-grader at Scott Lake Elementary took home a $50 bond for third place. Congratulations to all the young artists! Brooke Pottery’s ornament is for sale throughout the holidays, and 10% of sales are donated to the Needlework Guild of America. The NGA is a non- profit organization that provides clothing for local school children in need. Our stoneware ornament is $10; white porcelain ornament is $12.50.

Holiday Ornament Unveiled at First Friday

Please join us this evening as we unveil the design for the 2011 Brooke Pottery Ornament during First Friday, November 4. For the third year, Brooke Pottery held a summer Kids’ Art Contest to design our annual holiday ornament. Awards will be presented at 7pm to the three finalists. Come help us recognize the creative efforts of these young artists tonight!
The 2011 Holiday Ornament will be for sale beginning Thanksgiving weekend during Brooke Pottery’s Ornaments on Parade. We donate 10% of ornament sales to the Needlework Guild of America, a non- profit organization that provides clothing for local school children in need.

Calling Kid Artists for 2011 Ornament Contest

It’s ornament time again. Brooke Pottery’s annual Holiday Ornament Art Contest is open to kids in grades K -12. The winning design will be featured on Brooke Pottery’s 2011 Holiday Ornament made in stoneware in white porcelain. The ornament debuts Thanksgiving weekend during Brooke Pottery’s parade of ornaments and is for sale throughout the winter holidays.

The young artists behind the top three designs will be awarded savings bonds – $100 bond for first place, $50 bond for second, and $25 bond for third. Pick up entry forms at Brooke Pottery or download entry form here. Line art is required since the design will be reproduced in clay. A marker or watercolor drawing for example, while beautiful, does not translate well. Deadline: Hard copies of entries must be submitted to the shop by September 2, 2011. Winning designs will be announced and awards presented on First Friday November 4, 2010 at 7 PM in the shop.
