Sweet Tweets by Lakeland Artist Cheryl Dossey

We are delighted to announce the new arrival of cheerful and fresh decorative prints by Lakeland artist Cheryl Dossey. Some of you may recall Cheryl’s wonderful frame shop and art gallery, Fitz Framing, that was next to Brooke Pottery on Kentucky Avenue for many years. Cheryl’s window displays were always creative, inspiring and impeccable. Yeah, we can admit to being a bit jealous!
Cheryl Dossey’s mixed media collage and sculpture delivers simple messages of love, appreciation and beauty with a cheerful heart. Original works are created on wood, with detailed layers of paper, paint, and vintage ephemera. Brooke Pottery is pleased to offer affordable, high resolution Giclée prints of Cheryl’s art. Prints are available in two sizes, 12″x12″ and 11″x14″, plain or matted, $28-$38.
More about Cheryl, in her own words:
I grew up in a small town in central Florida. I took art classes all throughout school and was encouraged by my high school art teacher to pursue an art education. I graduated from The Art Institute of Pittsburgh and afterwards began a career in the art & framing industry. Several years later I opened my own frame shop and gallery and spent the next 15 years enhancing, promoting and selling the artwork of other popular artists.
It wasn’t until the latter years when I started offering my gallery space to local artists that my inner creative spirit was reawakened. So after a very long hiatus I am feeling rejuvenated and excited again to be creating my own work. I am looking forward to this new journey and to all the wonderful paths yet discovered. The difference this time around is the joy of creating without fear or inhibition. I create now for the sheer love of it. -Cheryl Dossey
